Abstract
Efforts to sniff out untapped potential and immature markets have led private equity groups, both American and European, to the fertile fields of Latin America, Asia, and Europe. The present examination focuses on private equity and leveraged buyout activity in Europe, considering the current factors and trends that influence the ripening of that market. European buyout groups are learning much from their more experienced and highly competitive U.S. counterparts. Some are shifting their strategies to take advantage of avenues to capital growth not before explored.
