Abstract
Among alternative asset classes available to investors, private equity is one of the largest and is growing in popularity. As private equity fund managers build their knowledge portfolio, they recognize that they may have creative options for leveraging their proprietary databases and sector expertise. Some are turning to the crossover fund, an innovative blend of private and public equity investing that maximizes the use of in-depth sector knowledge from the private equity side, and strategic investing opportunities available in the public markets.
